Creating Color Schemes
Friday, May 14 at 11:30 am
presented by Jayne Rosen of J R Design Coordinates
Benefits Doylestown Hospital and the Mission of the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown - a 501 (C) 3 organization
Jayne started her career as a beauty editor, first at Good Housekeeping, and then at Seventeen. After Seventeen, she switched to fashion,
and worked as an editor at Town & Country, and then at Bride’s while attending the New York School of Interior Design at night.  After ten
years as an editor, she did what many former editors do: Jayne became a publicist. She had her own firm, specializing in fashion, beauty
and home furnishings, for five years. Then, accepting an offer that was too good to refuse, became manager, and then director of public
relations for Charles of the Ritz Group, responsible for 16 brands, including 6 from Yves Saint Laurent, and launching Yves Saint Laurent
Beaute cosmetics as well as Gianni Versace’s first fragrance in this country. Working with Kohler on a promotion, they created and
separately launched the “big bath” as it is known today.  After Ritz, Jayne decided what she really wanted to do when she grew up:
become an interior designer. After apprenticing with two New York interior design firms, Jayne set up her own company, and she’s been
doing what she loves best for the last twenty-two years.
Interior designer Jayne Rosen will take participants
through the process of creating a color scheme, from an
evaluation of the space to be designed, through an
understanding of fabric types and durability to her
Point/Counterpoint System for actually creating a
scheme. Participants will learn to assess schemes, assign
fabric placement. The Power Point presentation will be
augmented with actual color boards, and visuals will
include “before” and “after” photographs.
